The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has formally opened the 2025 application system.
Applications are actually open and will shut on 15 December 2024.
*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding
To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant will have to satisfy the following criteria:
• Be a South African citizen or copyright who arises from a house by using a combined gross residence earnings that doesn't exceed R350 000 for every annum.
• People with disabilities qualify if their combined domestic income will not exceed R600 000 per annum.
• SASSA recipients immediately qualify my nsfas for funding and need not submit any evidence of earnings.
*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle
The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open up to all South African citizens and permanent inhabitants from households with combined R350 000 and R600 000 per annum.
Applicants are reminded to provide the proper Id Doc numbers, names, and surname, as reflected in their South African ID.
NSFAS only funds people who are finding out or intend to study in a public nsfas application university or TVET college in South Africa.
All students who wish to study in any of the public universities and TVET colleges more info should apply timeously and not to wait until the last day.
Learners do not have to wait for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid delays in the processing of their application.
